Race Dental Laboratory has grown from modest beginnings - John Leonard Race founded Race Dental Laboratory based in Macquarie Street, Sydney, in 1936. After the Second World War, the laboratory was moved to Wentworthville and in 1954 due to an expanding customer base it was once again relocated to a larger premises on Charles Street in Parramatta. The laboratory quickly established a reputation for reliability, outstanding quality & attention to detail. In 1957, John travelled to Germany to learn the coveted skills and techniques of the Master Dental Technician. This training included the process of creating porcelain fused to gold crowns, which were becoming popular in Australia.

John’s sons, David and Paul, completed high school and went on to study dental technology to assist their father in building the family business. By 1987, the outstanding success of the family business had grown to such a large level that a new a fully equipped, state-of-the-art dental laboratory was set up in North Parramatta. Paul retired in the early 90's to focus on spending time with his family and David and his wife Margaret continued to successfully expand the business with their three sons Anthony, Brad and Matt.
In April 2005 the laboratory had again outgrown its facilities and relocated to Macquarie Park in North Ryde, an ultra modern facility covering 1000m2.

Matt, Anthony and Brad are now owners of the company, drawing on Matt’s love of new technology, Anthony’s hands-on technical skills and Brad’s business acumen. Our motto is 'At the Forefront of Technology' and we pride ourselves on our adoption of new technology including a wide range of dental CAD/CAM systems such as 3M Lava™, ZX™ and EOS. The company has embraced a policy of continued training and education in both implants and cosmetic dentistry and our senior technicians complete various international certifications (LVI) in both the USA and Europe. With more than 70 years industry experience, spanning three generations, the Race Dental Laboratory team boasts an unsurpassed record of excellence and performance in the realm of dental technology.
